van or truck intake and PI or non-PI. PI's are not nearly as tall as the non-pi intakes (lightning's are only PI engines i think). 4.6 intake adapter plates (PFS-54110) and a mustang intake would probably clear

whoa, I forgot about this thread...lol

Yes that lightning engine is tall as hell. Thats a tight fit in that buggy for sure.

I was only considering it because I could get motor and trans from a friends truck that is completely built with a 3.4 whipple putting out 685hp at the wheels in the lightning. he was going to sell it to me for a pretty damn good price but I think fitment will be to much of an issue expessially with the 4r100 and trying to run a 205...lol

I am not to worried about the width as this is not really going into a 74 bronco it will be a tube chassis with bronco skins so I have a lot of freedom to build it how it will need to be to fit everything.

I have pretty much decided to do the 4.6 3 valve with a gt500 blower. should make about 500-530hp at the crank. mustang guys with the same set up and tune are gettign 430 at the wheels...

Erin your engine runs pretty damn strong, what kinda #s are you putting out??

I was planning on getting the Ford racing harness with computer and pedal. its simple but expenssive as hell. I might have access to the computer and possibley the body harness if need be from the donar car my engine was from....(2007 Mustang)

im not sure.its all stock with 2011 camaro manifolds.had a good tune put on it.i have to run premium fuel.going to do the cam and springs and retune my computer this winter ,he said over 400 hp then. running a manual i am not losing any power eather.
the tranny deal is huge i think.you loose a lot of rear wheel hp with bigger tranny's. i was always told a turbo 400 or a 4l60 take 40 more hp to run then compared to a turbo 350. 60 for a 4l80.i wonder what the loss is on the tranny your looking at if any?

Im not sure how much of a loss I will see through the 4r70 but I would guess there will be at least a 30% loss of HP through the drive train.
