I mean you no disrespect, but being a soldier does not mean that you know anything about optics.

A 1x optic, such as an Aimpoint Micro, or an EOtech can be used effectively from the end of the muzzle, out past 300 yards. I do it frequently.

Shooting a rifle from the hip, with a laser attached does not provide "instant" anything. In the time it takes to get the rifle on target, you could have already engaged it with multiple rounds using your sights.

Stolen Valor alert fellas!

We got us a fake veteran!

Cheapening the Legacy of Veterans of the United States Armed Forces to justify unsafe weapon handling and shit poor advice you learned from Arnold Schwarzenegger movies is pathetic.

I've been using a sling from Urban-ERT. I have the e-rush sling. It quickly and easily converts from 2 point to single point carry. It's very comfortable and easy to use. However, slings are a very personal thing and you'll likely end up going through a handful before you find one that you really like. I've gone through many of the big name ones, but I'm pretty happy with this one for now.

I agree with the others on sights. Don't waste money on lazers as they just create bad habits.

Try the Barska 1x30 M16 Sight Tactical Red Dot Rifle Scope. I've got one and it's awesome. It's called the "Poor Man's ACOG" at around $100.

I have an Aimpoint CompM2 (4 moa dot) with a QRP2 mount, ARD killflash and flip covers that I may be persuaded to sell for the right price.

I deleted my posts due to auguring with a tanker, something any self respecting scout would never admit to in polite company. More than likely a PFC or at best a SPC.
I was looking for adults and found a child. Thanks to those of you who did not fall to his level, as I unfortunately did.

Really dude? You came out with the most ridiculous and down right dangerous hillbilly advice on optics for a SHTF rifle... demonstrated a complete and total lack of any sort of marksmanship training or weapon related discipline in general. You couldn't provide any sort of real detail of your so called experience other than a unit that was reflagged to 2SCR in 2006.

Us, when we take it into the range and see that it is adjusted as far down as it will go, and still shooting low.

Every company has duds here and there.. but 3 out of 8 that I've sold have been returned for the same issue is not just a dud (IE broken, losing zero and not adjusting correctly). I've had better luck with BSA red dots.. lol
