It's ok. I don't feel the need to be an expert in interpreting the bible in the same way I don't feel the need to know the names of all the different forms of pokemon.

I see... but since you were providing an argument sourcing the bible NOT pokemon as a reference, I figured I would help you a little bit. Your welcome.

This is my favorite part of the article:

Quote:
"By virtue of your vow of obedience to me as your Bishop, I require that this letter be personally read by each celebrating priest at each Weekend Mass," Jenky wrote in a letter circulated to clergy in the Catholic Diocese of Peoria.

Nuggets would say that Jesus, himself, said he didn't come to abolish the law. Which he did say. That's usually where Nuggets stops listening though. Because Jesus fulfilled those laws with his actions here on earth (and said so in the second part of the verse I just paraphrased).

Also, if you want to continue down the road with mr. Nuggets your going to have to use sources other then the bible to explain the bible. Because he says you can't use just one source when debating that one source.

That's also your opinion on the subject and not his. Even if your opinion is backed by people who study the bible and have doctorates in biblical Studies. Who could read you the book in it's orginal language and tell you what they just said.

Do you think you could use that line when you're talking to an expert on Socrates? If I want to know the intricacies of a huge novel, say War and Peace, wouldn't it make sense for me to go to someone who has studied the book inside and out? It would seem pretty arrogant to tell that person 'well that's just your opinion and Mine is that your wrong'. But it's ok to do with the bible because it's a religious text. You guys are so full of it.

Back to the original point of this thread. I know a lot of church folks and yes Romney will get a huge turnout from white church goers. Im not sure if he will get so much from the black church goers. Last election BO got an over whelming amount of support from black churches. Even in my own church, Obamas support follows racial lines. MOst of the blacks support him and are quite vocal about it where as only a couple of whites admit to supporting him. When I ask his church going supporters how they justify their vote for him with their beliefs, it all comes down to "Hes my man" no logic, just pure emotion. Some Ive talked to will site social justice as the reason for their support. This election season I doudt BOs church going base will show up to vote like they did the first time. Ive even read that many of the so called black churches are publicly with drawing their support. I guess we will see.
