I got a pm from the original poster thanking me for the directions and mentioned that [you] offered to pick up their tab in mackinaw. That's pretty awesome of [you]

It was pretty clear, [you] offered to pick up his tab in mackinaw, I'm not sure how much more clear it could get. It should only be $300-$500. I heard that isn't shit to [you]. Must be nice.

Well just got home.

36 hours since we left home,770 miles,4 tanks of gas and never left the state of Michigan! I want to thank everyone who suggested changing to the West side over my original route. This was a great roadtrip and the woman was smiling the whole time.

Left Toledo around noon Saturday and stopped at BlackRock Bar & Grill in Hartland for an early dinner {best steaks ever} then made it to cousins place in Grayling Saturday evening in time for a Halloween party/hay ride and crashed there for the nite. Hit the road 10am today and crossed the bridge so we could walk around St. Ignace. Walked the boardwalk, seen the lighthouse, got some wine and fudge then hit the road again back to the lower. We took a right as soon as we crossed the bridge and took Wilderness Hwy all through Wilderness National Park, stopped at a couple random beaches to walk/stretch out a bit then picked up M119 through the Tunnel of Trees. The woman was amazed at how beautiful that area was. She couldnt stop "Hey look at that!" for the next couple hours. After we came out at Harbor Springs we took 31 all the way to down town Traverse City where we stopped and ate dinner at Apache Trout Grill. We got sat right at the window facing the bay and had the best sea food dinner we had ever had.Place was awesome top to bottom. After dinner we let her Iphone pick the fastest route home and it took us right back to Grayling and we jumped on 75 back home.

The woman loved every minute of it and didnt complain about a single thing and said she wants to do the same exact drive next summer when its warm.

Since I grew up on the border near Toledo I gota say even though my address is in Michigan it really feels like just a less shitty area of Ohio after seeing some REAL Michigan towns and citys. You guys who live up there are dam lucky.

If you really liked that, you need to get across the bridge and go to the far west side across the bridge. try to plan around the MTU/NMU parent weekends, hotels are hard to find around that time.

did you snag any pics worth tossing up?

I wish I would of stopped to get pix of a old house that was built into a hillside falling apart right at the north end of M119...but I only took a few.

M119

Some random beach we found in WIlderness Park

Shoreline of St Ignace from a pier

I tried to snap a moving pic of some awesome looking houses along the water in Petoskey but I didnt quiet catch the pic.

Funny part is the day after we got home I posted these pix on my Facebook page and a older cousin of mine asked why I didnt stop and visit while I was up there... Told her I thought she lived in Ann Arbor and she informed me that 2 years ago her husband bought her a second house .................

................right on M119 in the Tunnel of Trees. And they were home when we drove right past their house.
