Default Troubleshooting a dead battery

Looking for a method to troubleshoot a dead battery. I went to start one morning and battery was dead, replaced battery and it was fine. Parked at the airport for three days and the battery was dead again. Assuming something is drawing the battery down, what's the best/fastest way to find it? It's a 2001 Suburban with a 5.3L.

Charge the battery.
Check the alternator to see if it is warm before you start the truck. I have seen a few internally shorted regulators.
Use an inductive amp probe around the battery cable to determine parasitic load. Should be less than .5 amp.
