Default Halloween candy report.

For the first time since 1977 I did not see a single Mary Jane, Squirrell or that nasty black licorice shit. For all 3 kids we had a total of 3 pieces of what I'd consider "ghetto" candy...just some real cheap nasty candy that you'd never eat.

The overall pull was good...almost all candy bars, M&M's, chips and Jolly Ranchers. Plus some of the usual tootsie rolls and Smarties.

As usual, there was one asshole giving out pennies and somebody that popped popcorn and put it in baggies.

It's halloween and it's for the kids. They aren't out looking for ways to depend on others for the rest of their lives.

Why hand out shitty candy if even you know it's garbage and nobody is going to eat it? Turn off your porch light and hand out nothing instead.

We hand out the 'bite size' name brand candy to the older kids, and give the regular size name brand candy to the little kids in real costumes.

Repeat customers get the crappy stuff.

I gave out twizzlers, kit kat, snickers, york, m&ms, peanut butter snickers, and reeses. i pretty much gave all the kids the same amount. I think we had about 50 kids this year. I only recognized like four from the neighborhood though. I think most of the kids in this neighborhood go to the party at temple israel.

My daughter is only about 27 months old so we only took her to about 8 houses... basically the neighbors that we can see from our house. But when we got back I was surprised to see how much candy they had giver her (or me rather since she doesn't really get sweets yet). Somebody gave her three big bags of Sour Patch Kids.

In the few years we have lived here, we normally get about 30 trick-or-treaters, but I think we only got about 16 this year. I don't think we had any that were older than 10 maybe and they all had pretty decent costumes for once. We also had a group of 8-year-olds actually singing Halloween songs to try and get more candy. That was a first so I obliged.

It seemed to get dark so quick tonight - that and the drizzly weather seemed to keep a lot of trick-or-treaters away from here. I don't think we had anybody come to our door after 7:30 p.m.

Seems like when I was a kid we didn't go out until dark, now it's all done by dark.
