Default Anyone hear of this machine shop?

http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/pts/3324000120.html

I searched for C.H.C in stealing heights, but nada. I need a rebuilt head for my 4.0, they have good prices and seem to have a nice product.

Or if anyone can recommend a place in the lapeer area that can get me a reman'd head for around $200 id like to hear it.

I called the number, got someone on a cell who sounded like a cross between travis from the trailer park boys and hulk hogan saying "brother" a lot. Acted real weird about where i should drop off the head, and rambled for a minute about how thieves are trying to find where his shop is so they can loot it.

I gave ross a call, spoke with Chris. He said anywhere from $160-$250 depending on a lot.

Baldwin automotive in Pontiac is right around the corner from where i work, they said around $200 give or take ten bucks.

Id spend extra money and get it done right advance auto has a Reman cylinder head for just under 400 but it has a good reliable warranty on it.

The thing i like most about chris at ross is he stands behind his work we have only had one bad engine from him and he redid it free pf charge and it s still running today he can be a little pricy but does great work in a timely fashion and is very good about warrants on his work

Thanks, i am going with them. Easier for many reasons, and only a few bucks more than the other people.

The head is cracked pretty good in several spots. Only owe Ross $30 though, pretty happy about that.

Anyone have any ideas on what to do here? I really dont want to spend $400 on this wore out 4.0. The engine ran pretty good with the cracked head. Only symptom was the CEL being on.
