A quick google search shows prices around $5,700. Couldn't you pick up a used Side by side that is a name brand for that price? If so I think that is the way I would go.

I know a few people who have bought those cheap chinese dirtbikes/quads etc.. they always seem to have problems and can never find parts.

Edit:

Maybe something like this??

We need to meet.

My boy has run the piss out of both his 50CC and 110CC.

Of course they were both heavily modified. He's even run his 110 down in Attica at the Badlands.

Yep and if you bought him a honda, suzuki, yamaha,or kaw his grand kids would be able to ride it in twenty or thirty years.
I work on all kinds of power sport toys......except china made pieces o shit. They dont last, you cant get parts, and they have no resale value.
I cannot stress this enough, you get what you pay for, unless you spend $6000 on a chinese side by side, then you get a $6000 pos.

I think you missed the point.

The point is that people just want to buy the cheapest shit out there, instead of spending the money to actually buy something decent.

I was just thinking about this with "stuff" in general and how we have become a cheap throw away society. I am having trouble finding some replacement parts for a couple items around the house, and the reason is because as consumers we just want to buy the cheap throw away shit and no one wants to be "handy" or intuitive enough to fix the shit they have, because its just easier and cheaper to buy a new one.

Which, leads to only having the option of buying chinese junk. Look at a polaris, they've got US operations, as does a Honda, John Deere, or even a Can-am bombardier which is quality but still north american based.

At least those are quality units that someone can repair, resell, etc. If its out of your budget look used, but why buy cheep crap when there is a better option?

What happened to the days of the old tractors that lasted for 40-50 years? People stopped buying them and bought the cheep chinese throwaways....it's a societal problem.

durr globalization.

6k in savings goes a long way, but as was previously said - if you intend to resell at a later date, consider a used popular name brand.

durrr throwing 6k out the window when it breaks and you can't fix the damn thing because of a lack of replacement parts.

Look at picture #10 and the way that they run the wiring, its cheap things like that (taking shortcuts) that make me want to stay away from the cheap machines.

I would rather spend the $5000 for a used Yamaha than $6000 on this machine that MIGHT be good. At least with the Yamaha I know the machine will last.

Price a kubota rtv 400 or 500. A new one would be in your price range.
