I'm still trying to figure out how 3% of abnormal society figured out a way to get so much support from almost half of the normal part of society.

Edit: off topic I know but just using my freedom of speach.

Here's a hint: Not everyone believes the same as you. Someone making their beliefs known doesn't mean shit in the overall scheme of things. If their beliefs aren't causing you any harm or preventing you from practicing your beliefs, GET OVER IT.
You aren't real smart are you?

I think it's largely a result of our highly polarized 2 party system.

The polarization only seems to get worse.

It's sad.

I want the choice to have an abortion.

No, we will NEVER consider abortion.

Fine, we want abortion and FREE birth controls.

No, we will never consider abortion or free birth controls and we want all people who have babies out of wedlock stoned to death!

There's plenty of ground between "agreeing to disagree" and " belittle, demean, harass and generally fukc with". In between are friendly debates, spirited discussions, and peaceful protests. We need not always go to the extremes.

IDK, protesting just because someone simply believes differently than someone else seems pretty extreme to me. Intolerant as well.

No. It is an elected government official attacking a privately owned business (therefore using the power of his office for both publicity and to promise that any new permits for a new location will be denied based on this) for having beliefs that he doesn't agree with (but most of America does).

Fuck the constitution.

How many porn shops have been protested until they close? Why can't they just let people get their kink on? Intolerance against kinky folks, and from the fact that nude pic posts on this site are some of the biggest hitters, there's plenty of pervs here.

What about strip clubs? People are just trying to help single mothers get through school.

Now let's go for the extremism and shows of intolerance from the Christian side.

How many things has Rush Limbaugh pushed to boycott because it doesn't meet up with his beliefs?

There's the pro-life Christian groups that protest (and have killed) at abortion clinics.

The KKK was founded by Christians and hate Jews, Catholics, Blacks, and whatever else that isn't a WASP. And hate wasn't enough.. how many people have been killed at their hands?

Westboro Baptists hate everything from what I can tell, not sure what the fukc is up with that group. Tim McVeigh was a Christian extremist and blew up a federal building and killed innocent women and children. Terry Jones' church is not a pillar of acceptance.

So... what's that about extremism and intolerance? I think both sides got it in spades.

So back on point. The Chick Fil A guy spoke out against gay marriage, and those that either want gay marriage, or don't want their chicken sammich peddler telling them how to live their life said "no thanks, I ain't buying sammiches from you no more" and you consider this an attack on free speech.

And then to take it to extremes, some politicians got on the band wagon and said they would try to keep Mr Chick Fil A out of their hometown, which as was already stated is not Constitutional and wouldn't stand up in a court of law; so the only thing to come out of it was some grandstanding and vote grubbing.. which if as you say, most people are anti-gay marriage and or not offended by what their sammich maker says then he stands to make much profit from not only selling sammiches, but also challenging those towns/universities by building his stores there, and if denied suing their living pants off.

I'm not seeing how Mr Chick Fil A is hurt in this. He did in fact sell a bunch more sammiches, record amounts if I remember right; and he now has an expansion plan to go put his foot down a bunch of libtards throats for grandstanding against his company and stating they would try and do something illegal.

Winner winner chicken dinner
