You wouldn't be taking it there though. As you said it would be going to animal control.

I don't want to take him to the death palace, and animal control don't burn em up and give you back a box of marlboro's that have been used.

I recommend baking a birthday cake for your mother out of the "flour" they give you back.

Zooks Pussy

We had a cat have kidney failure about a year ago. I called around to the vets and was blown away by the price to have the animal put down. I finally called my Nephew, drove to the farm and we dug a hole, laid the cat in the hole and Willie put some lead in her. This was the first cat that I really liked, she was a good pet and I wanted to make things as painless as I could for her. I watched the whole thing and I am sure she didnt feel pain.

Seems like there ought to be a cheaper, nicer way to put them to sleep. Not everyone has access to or wants to do it themselves. They have cheap places for getting animals fixed, is there a economical way for those who cant take the animal to a farm and put it down?

I repeat, sedating meds... easy on the family, as they can all hover around at the last minute they dont have to know about the meds

we also burried her in the back yard where everyone had thier good cry.

If you can manage to take the cat to another vet,may be best, its not like the cat will know anything. another vet may also have some med to do it at home if you want.

Well, he bit the dust tonight. Not sure exactly what time, but he was still semi warm, and flexible.

He had a good run at life, he's seen lots in his life, had several dogs come and go, but my 20 year old is heartbroken. It's part of life. He is going to be buried in the yard next to the last cat we lost.

Sorry for your loss. I put down my older dog in August.
I know it's to soon but I stopped at local animal shelter. They are over loaded with cats. No more Cats sign on the door! Had a crate with 3 very playfull little ones just inside the door. I looked at dogs, I was shocked at the quality of dogs. Some looked pure bred. Others look like 2 breed mix, not Heinz 57.
All seemed to have been loved on. Then dumped or lost.

We considered replacing him, but we have 3 still, and 2 very energetic Boxer pups. Our youngest cat is 13 weeks, time to lose his claws and balls. Our cats are inside only.

Sorry Zook.

I was worried about my cat today. We had to have his left rear leg amputated today. Thankfully the surgery went well.

My first cat was the same way, He was 18 when he passed away. But he would hide in the basement all the time and I could never find him until the Day he passed away. Came up stairs, said his good byes and feel asleep on the back porch.

My Aunt and Uncle had a cat that was 26 years old when she passed away. Looked and acted just fine until she die.

I'm glad he died at home.

It always sucks to loose a great pet.
