how do i remove tj Tcase linkage

I'm in the middle of pulling my trans/transfercase and was trying to figure out the easiest way to dissconect Tcase linkage for manual trans removal

Pry the metal linkage out of the plastic grommet and then move you whole teams passenger side to slide to pivot piece out of the hole on the body

Doesn't the drivers side piece come out with removing 4 bolts under the carpet? I thought you removed that part, then the linkage could come out. But its been 10+ years since I messed with it.

there are 4 bolts that hold the shifter to the body, the linkage pops out with a small prybar
