don't pay much for them, the front is a half ton chevy axle 10bolt or 44 (i don't remember) and the rear is just a 14b (i think) they made about a billion of each of them.

guy wants 50 for both. but im thinking about keeping my 8.25 our back and picking up the bronco 44 because they are similar width (right?) and i found a build where a guy used one on his cherokee and just lengthened the radius arms and the think flexed great for him.

like so...

I was gonna answer but you beat me to it. The closed knuckle drum front cannot be made into 8 lug for any reasonable amount of money, unless you do all of the machining yourself. The Chevy front end could be made into an 8 lug with bolt on parts, to match the rear end, and you would get the benefit of full width, plus the strength of 3/4 ton axles.

You need to give more info about what you are trying to build and then you can get some educated answers about what axles you should get.

I'm taking a guess that you are building a Cherokee? If so leave the Dana 30 up front and get an 8.8 out of an explorer for the rear. Same bolt pattern and width and you can get them with disks, 4:10 gears and a limited slip. That combo will get you up to 35" tires depending on how you are with the skinny pedal.

If you want an early bronco dana 44 you want a 1977. That will be the narrow width with disc brakes. Be carefull because a 1977 F150 Dana 44 is a full width high pinion axle. That last link you posted is for Dodge axles, Dana 44 up front and 9.25 rear. Drivers drop, but not very desirable because they are Low pinion and have the Vaccum disconnect in the tube.
