Default USB Flash Drives

I don't know shit about computer/flash drives. I need a edumikation.

I'm getting ready to move and I have a couple laptops that are old/outdated, but have pictures/documents on them that I want. I've had a gift certificate to sears that I haven't had an use for, but I think I may now. So while seeing what was available, I came across this 32gb flash drive for 25.00. Now, all the other ones that are 32gb are 80+ bucks. What gives? What is this one so much cheaper than the others?

Nothing wrong with that for your application. I think I may get me a few.

Thanks. What are the limitations, or what applications would it not suffice?

There are different classes of cards, basically how fast they can be read and written to. A Go Pro for instance needs a fast card, document storage not so much.

Might not be fast enough for HD video. It may be USB 3.0, but it's not the fastest write speed out there. Since you are talking about 'older laptops', you probably have USB2.0 so you won't notice the difference.

move your documents, photo's, downloaded stuff over there.

just click on it and make a folder and start!

The bonus to using it partitioned like it is, will be when windows fucks up and needs a reinstall you wont lose all that stuff.

Nick that laptop is definitely USB 2.0. USB 3.0 is only now making it into a lot of mid range laptops.
