I am looking for a LQ4 6.0l for a camaro my dad and I own. The 6.0l, IMO is one of the best engines available. I love mine, 195k miles and its still a screamer. It will most likely outlive my truck.

The truck will be my second vehicle and trailer hauler. I normally drive my car all summer and in the winter when I drive the truck I do not put very many miles on a vehicle.

6.0s make plenty of power and the 4L80E is a great trans. It's not the best at anything, but it's good for what you want out of it. It makes good power and is a reliable setup. What it lacks in mileage it makes up for in being way-the-hell-cheaper than a diesel.

And that is why I haven't traded it on a dmax.

my 06 2500 hd with the 6.0 nv4500 5 speed and 4:10 gears pulls just fine up to about 10K lbs. anything over that it will struggle on the highway above 65 to maintain speed. having a stick is great in mine because i don't have to listen to the engine scream at 5K pulling a hill. i can drop 1 gear and continue at a reasonable rpm. my truck is totally stock and gets 14 empty highway 12.5 city and 8-10 loaded.

I use this as a tow rig. It has a gas 6.0 in it.

The truck weighs 10,000, the trailer is a very porky 2,500 and the jeep is aprx.3,500ish. Throw in 3 passengers and camping/recovery gear for another aprx 1000lbs.

At aprx 17,000 going down the road I have no issues with power. This unaerodynamic brick does not struggle at 70mph. I tow in od with very minimal downshifting.

At 70 mph it gets 8mpg and at 55 it will almost squeak out 11.

It has however never left the state of Michigan.
