Default The flat lands????

Hello all,

I am now in the flat lands, started my Jeep habit about 2 years ago in Colorado and can't get enough. Driving a YJ with 38's, spooled ford 9 in the rear and Limited slop D44 up front. I think I am a bit overbuilt for the this part of the country, but would love to be wrong.

I just happen to have a few free days this Sunday - Wednesday to try to discover a reason to keep my rig. Anyone going out during thanksgiving week?

I live in West chicago suburbs and am willing to drive up to or around 3 hours. Any suggestions of where to go? What is the most extreme trail within this radius? Am very interested in meeting people with the same habit in the area so I don't feel like such an outcast driving this thing around.

Cheers

Yeah, Cooters your neighbor to the south, i'm your neighbor to the north.

i'd go out with you but my YJ on 40's needs a new motor before it moves out of the driveway.

Definately get a hold of Mr. Cooter, He knows his way well around the cliffs

Clifs is probally only around an hour or so from you. Badlands about 3 or so hours.

Thanks all. I will be checking out both parks (cliffs and badlands) very soon. I might try the cliffs if they are open this sunday. Must watch the game on saturday so that is out of the question. Thought about getting satalite for the jeep but that is down the road. :)

Aspen !!!
With jeep? My cousin lives and works in aspen. We usually met somewhere in the middle. I never made it that far southwest from denver because there are so many places to go that were closer. I sort of regret never making it.

Does Michigan have any good places?

Yello!!!

Sorry about the motor. Haven't had to do that yet. I only have 80K miles on mine. I bought it when I got out of college and barely drove it. Now that it has 38's and no sway bar, it gets driven even less.

Give me pm when you are up an running.

Does wisc offer anything worth the drive?

Wisconsin has some stuff, but it's way north, probally 5 hour + drive.

Well the motor in my YJ (the non-running one) is a 1973 or so AMC 304 that finally died, so it's going to sit next to my 360 with the stretched rod while I build up the 401 I need to drive to Michigan to get :)

Yea the stock 2.5L in my YJ got pulled in 2001 with 60k on it :)
