Default South Carolina Tundra-Cruiser

This was just way to cool to not share....

So,
I'm on in Old Downtown Charleston South Carolina looking for a parking spot, and the sweetest Matte Black FJZ80 passes me... it had Tundra conversion on it. I thought it was a Sequioa ... but then I noted the odd body work, and the Landcruiser lift / tailgate rear...

i did a few searches, and couldn't find anything, But I kept searching....

Yep, Alan Podvin is the mad scientist behind this truck…
He makes a lot of these crazy custom URL="http://cruiserconversions.com/tourtrucks/"]LandCruisers[/URL] that are always getting spotted at National Forest sites. … And you all know the other LCs and 4runner seen a few of them before on Ebay.

This is what I could find out about it. ......

The truck Started as a normal FJZ80 "longnose" solid axle rig...

and then the body got a Style upgrade with Tundra BAJA fiberglass.

SO , HERE IS WHAT I WAS ABLE TO FIND ON THE INTERWEBS VIA SOME ARGENTINIAN FORUM....

All the great styling of a 2010 Toyota Tundra Baja Flared race truck blended with a almost new straight axle off road 8 passenger 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser.
Perfect for all you adventures!!

HOW/ WHY IT WAS BUILT
We started with a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser with 69,000 original miles chosen for low miles and factory straight axles. We then purchased all new body parts for the 2007-2010 Toyota Tundra as well as many steel parts that were custom fabricated as new. The result is a Tundra with a 112" wheelbase, the blend of great looks, towing, off road ability, passenger carrying, and reliability. Unlike the Tundra you have passenger carrying ability and secure storage for your gear. Unlike the Sequoia it has a shorter wheelbase better for parking and offroading. Better than most other vehicles is the Tundra Cruisers approach and departure angles, and massive straight axles better for articulation off road, the price and the reliability especially the worldwide parts support of the 4.5 Toyota motor, as well as this is a worldwide Toyota platform supported in all markets so you can export anywhere. On long range expeditions the electronics are simple enough for user service.

USES
Armored Transport -Can be armored up to ballistics level 2 on this chassis-many modifications have been built in to ready for this.
Off Road- amazing 4x4 and jeep road travel ability
Expedition-Perfect for Alaska or South American expedition travel comfortable for sleeping with roof top tent, pulling campers etc
City- great head turner and maximum daily disaster preparedness, and adverse snow conditions
Exploring- perfect for family adventures hunting, fishing room for all your gear dry and secure unlike Tundra
Dakar racing or any other desert or overland rally

HIGHLIGHTS
Tilt nose front end tilts forward for easy maintenance access of engine bay
Fins at back windows are made to hold traction planks for extreme off roading.
Flat Black PPG brand epoxy based professional paint job free of imperfections and a very good look.
Gloss Black bumpers side bars and cage.
4" flared body panels all corners for better tire cover

Front and rear bumpers are thick steel frame mounted and offer good off road protection
35" tires Nitto Trail Grappler M/T brand new less than 1000 miles
20x10 Fuel brand wheels resulted in good handling from lower profile tire. On street these maintained stock height sidewall for tight steering response.
All stock Toyota suspension with 2" spacer in rear
All stock motor drivetrain 100% origianal untouched with 69,000 original verified miles.
Leather seating 3 rows anniversary edition Land Cruiser interior full size fold down 3rd row seat

With the exception of the wheels, that thing is sweet! I love black wkeels I am just not a fan of those. I would rather see semi-gloss black powdercoated FJ wheels on it.

I knew there had to be something on IH8MUD about it. I guess it was on Ebay at one time.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. It's unique, That's for sure.
