What do I need to know about moving
Well folks, the time has come. I'm joining the 99% for the next year and a half while at training in Fort Rucker, AL. I've never been to Alabama but I plan to take my jeep and a trailer full of stuff with me (most importantly my tools).
What should I know about Alabama? Anyone foresee any problems with me taking my jeep down there (6" LA on 35's)? Where are some cool places to go in the south that I should head to on my down time? |

moving is where you pack up all your stuff and take it to your new place of residence.
That's pretty much what you will need to know. A lot of times people will sell things they don't want to keep, or need. They will move the things they need, or want to keep. Sometimes they have some friends help, or they rent a moving truck, or hire a moving company. |

An army brat here.....I can tell you this much, moving sucks!
If you have breakables they will break. If you have something valuable it will disappear and sometimes never to be found. If you're a loner hire a moving company. You have no help otherwise if you uhaul your shit. |

PM Scottie, he has done something similarly stupid in the not too distant past, and he also has a line on places to shift your Jeep into 4wd. He may also know areas to avoid, he knows where to find sweet Fieros, and learned to speak redneck.

I had no idea where Fort Rucker, AL was, so i looked it up. you will be in the middle of Nowhere. Expect 90% of southern stereo types to be true. Not much in the way of offroad except for MUD. Closest off-road parks are 'Bogs and Bolders' and 'The Great American Park' But then there are several parks in Northern Alabama. Dothan has the peanut festival. You will be 2-3 hours away from cool spots on the Gulf Coast. This is my experience of the gulf coast cities, all have nice beaches: Panama Shitty: Redneck gangsta's and trashy people Mexico Beach: Families that want a boring vacation not at Panama City Grayton, Seaside: Artsy Conservative, Pretty normal and nice rich people visit here Destin: Families, overated Pensacola: Actual city mix of everything Beer from Lazy Magnolia Brewery is Delicious. |
