Hennessey VR12000

2013 Hennessey VR12000 CTS

Quote:
The 2013 VR1200 Twin Turbo Coupe ditches the stock block and blower for a 7.0-liter lump and a pair of turbos. With innards like forged pistons, connecting rods and a forged crankshaft, the engine is good for 1,226 horsepower and 1,109 pound-feet of torque at the flywheel.

Hennessey = Crook

700 horsepower (623 RWHP) lingenfelter cts-v is more than adequate, and it's only $11k on top of your already purchased cts-v

adequate is a relative term.

1200 hp and 1100 ft# would be scary. Unless it had traction control and AWD. Then it would rip the seat bolts out of the floor at launch. That would be cool.

You know how I know your gay? you used the words "more than adequate" and "horsepower" in the same sentence.

Hell yeah. I'm sure some people would say the 13HP a Prius makes is adequate too.

Since we are talking play money here who gives a shit. It looks like fun. Hell most of us will never even buy a CTS, almost no one will ever buy a CTS-V, and I'd be willing to bet that no one on this site will ever take a CTS-V to Hennessey or Lingenfelter anyway.

I could afford one, but I wouldnt want to own one. Fuck a pickup truck these days cost over 50, whats that thing cost? 80 grand? I would much rather have a big fucking boat. looks like it would be run to flog the piss out of it in a huge parking lot.

have you met docbrad? his Rossion is pretty neat (and not cheap) I can easily see him entertaining a lingenfelter escalade for family duty.

If you play dress up, and can keep a straight face, I bet that Jack Cauley's folks would let you test drive a Calloway or Lingenfelter from his lot around the corner from you. Jack's a pretty nice guy.

this would be more fun for the ham-fisted, knuckle draggers.

Yes, that's an ls series chevy, with mismatched heads, a gasket that fell on the floor during the rebuild, and a stupid big turbo, stuffed in a heap of shit '79 ford fairmont...

My point exactly. The few people on this board that could probably swing the note on a CTS-V are probably not going to be in the market to do so. Hell, the only person, publically known and to my knowledge, that has a CTS is the Gmonkey. Not to say that a CTS is some sort of high end, high dollar luxury car, but based on stuff I see here it's probably not very high on most peoples realistic want list.

No, I've never met this docbrad you speak of.

I've driven through their lot a few times out of boredom. I see nothing there amongst his overpriced vehicles that would even make me want to play the "I'm interested" dealing with salesman bullshit game.

Now, however, his lot that is a few feet south...

But that is all besides the point. I stand by my previous statement.

The Rossion is a pretty cool little car. It makes a pretty healthy amount of power, but the handling is what is the most impressive. I don't think I've ever ridden in another car that had zero body roll going through a round about at 80mph. Hell I don't think it even left it's lane...

I know you know the dentist. Yeah, you're probably correct in that nobody here will end up with a CTS that's been tweaked by an aftermarketer.

that being said, it's not cause it's 'play money' argument you mentioned.

if brad wanted his toy and 'MericanMade Daily driver in one, he easily could have picked up a Lingenfelter Tweaked Caddy. I don't know his full finances but he probably could also go after a Hennessey *cough* crook *cough*.

hell he (and others) can probably afford something from underground racing. (most of their sponsored cars are repeat winners in the texas mile, and far more exotic)
