I say put a 4BT cummins in it. Then it could be your daily driver..

NOT...

Throw a stock 100,000, mile 5.8 in it and beat the snot out of it.

Well as you have proven.....absolutely nothing wrong with super high mileage 5.8.
Really..the way that motor has been plaguing kyles ride, i think he be happy with a 300 straight six.

Im anxious to see what the booger truck does when it runs well on all cylinders.

I am sure the 5.0 can be fixed but go ahead and do the 5.8 swap cuz then a 408 will be easy

No need for high compression, a pump gas 550+hp 408 is fairly easy.

Im used to most people building at around 9:1, no reason a good 11:1 build cant run on 93 with Al heads and a good tune

Kyle, if you want to get rid of that 5.0, send me some details on the motor and a price. A guy I work with is interested.

550 at the crank yes at the tires im thinking no unless its really built to the hill or its force fed maybe, 408 would be very sweet in the truck for sure.

Ill give ya a shot with the 5.0, but really its a money thing. I am tired of putting it in. If I could be certain it was buy this and fix that, sure. If I cant fix it cheaply enough, I'll pull it and put in the 5.8...problem is, I want it done soon.

Thanks! Maybe 408 one day, but for now, cheap and easy. If I did do it, it would be efi.

No positive it is just a tune thing, and there is the money thing....tunes aren't cheap and this is just a toy. At this point I just want it to run, but Im still not willing to put much more money into it. So far I only have a couple hundered into trying to get it to run, and most of those parts I didn't mind buying.
