Today's work

A little odd mounting option, but it works very well

Uprights tacked into place, and rack extended for the new design

More... the spare will actually be closer to the body of the trailer. We mounted the lift rams, but without the tent on top they are too strong, and will likely need replaced with smaller ones.

The different design rack, this will let me get into the trailer better when camping, I think it will be better in the long run.

I still plan to use the jack for now, maybe down the road do struts if they can get it high enough. The jack will get it close, after I add some wood/rubber to keep from marring the lid too badly.

Without the struts attached, and the lift FULL up

Struts in place

I am going to drill some holes to let me lower it a couple inches as well

Ran out of primer and paint for the lid... gotta get more when the wife gets home.

It's a 20 footer, but it will work for now, sadly I won't be able to get the lid smoothed the way I want. My filler has gone bad.

The paint made the lift too tight, I think I am going to have to find aluminum arms. Going to strip the paint off and get it sliding for this trip anyway. Lid not re=installed yet.

My parents stopped by to check out the "tree house" and our kitchen remodel

Looks great. Is the other side of the tent supported? Just wondering how sturdy it is when fully extended.

The ladder is the support, as well as a heavy duty set of hinges. It is very sturdy, we had it mounted on our H3 for a trip over the 4th. These are used extensively in Australia, and out west.

If you set the parking brake on the trailer is isn't wobbly at all. I expected MUCH more wobble.

There is also a screen room to come off the back, and another awning on the tent that I had not put up.

Couple more shots as I did some changes tonight to the rack, they should stiffen it a bit.

Added the red bars so the tent will bolt on better, the end ones were just not in the best place after the rack was extended.

Sticker for our local trails organization, been waiting years to put it on something

No jack needed, took the tires in for repair as they had leaky plugs. Had vulcanized patches put in.

Painting the inside of the lid

Essentially ready to go

Pic without the rack

Picture with the rack and no tent

Plan to set it up completely tomorrow, including the awning, and load it with all our gear.

Thanks, it's definitely a 20 footer on the paint though. I don't have the time or money to mess with stripping the CARC. I can't wait to fully deploy it tomorrow!

It's an old military trailer. It's supposed to look rough around the edges. If it wasn't a 20fter, you'd be gay.

It looks badass all set up. Is the screened vestibule part of that RTT, or is it a seperate unit that you used?
