You can shoot in my backyard. I have a large dirt hill we use as a backstop. You can get as far as 150+yds from targets . Let me know when and I'll have some other people come over and we'll blow through a couple hundred rounds.

kOOCHMAN450R, thanks for the invite, I'm in brighton so it's kind of a hike, but maybe we can set something up!

Island lake allows all callibers EXCEPT .50bmg.

Stevo, I just mounted up the scope, and I would love to eventualy shoot 1000 yards, but I'll need a little time to get comfortable behind this gun first!

I was at a range in Lapeer some guys brought a .50BMg up there. Don't remember exact location, just that it was down the road from a drag strip/racetrack ( never been there, call it what you want).

It's just north of Lapeer dragstrip on the east side of the road. From my knowledge it's an unofficial range that the DNR does not mind. A member from here took me once, it seemed ok but no range official, not my ideal scenario.

If you can afford a POS 50 you should be able to afford gas to drive to the range.

Williams Gunsight used to allow 50 BMG. I can't imagine they have changed their rules but you could call before you go. 810.653.2131

If you bring it up to Williams let me know when - my son would get a kick (pun intended) out of watching you touch a couple of those off.

The 50 BMG is the most violent thing I have ever seen fired. The explosive power that comes out of the muzzle is absolutely astonishing. The reason I use the word violent is because I can't think of any other word to describe that kind of power.

sounds like it could be a good Howell meet and greet. I've always wanted to see a .50 in person at the range.
