How is that relevant to the conversation? The post was about the 6.0 PSD engine, not that transmission or anything that went with it.

plenty of people are running around with a stock internal trans and putting 500hp out at the crank. The 5R takes it, unlike the 4R.

His first post is a reply to a quote some one else made. You sir need to look at things a little more clearly.

I'm pretty sure, no I AM sure, I'd listen to anything Bones said over 95% of the people that post on this website.

136k on my 06 6.0L and it runs great....rivercitydiesel EGR delete, and SCT with innovative tuning is the key.

Bones, your truck made it to 200k with the 6.0 needed a turbo and injectors. I am sure it will go much farther with the 12v cummins.

I'm sure the cummings is the bestest motor on the planet stuck behind the shittest truck on the planet, so i would by a ford nine times before i would buy a cummings...just saying, even if it lasted fifty miles less

There isnít one good thing about a 6.0. I bought it with intentions of converting it to a 12v Cummins, I didnt mean the comment above in a negative way. Buy a ford for the chassie or a Dodge for the motor.......

there isn't? I'm pretty sure if bones says its a solid motor after the mods are done to it, then its solid, rather than taking some kids word that a cummings is better

If you have ever worked on one you will realize real soon that it’s a nightmare from a layout stand point under the hood.

If your truck breaks down good luck finding someplace that actually know what they are doing (like the UP)

Count on replacing/fixing the FICM

That fact that its heui means there is a bunch more that can go wrong hpop hp oil rails a million O-rings the list goes on.

There are not enough head bolts.

Your oil is working twice as hard because it has to lubricate your engine and inject the fuel. I understand it has been a proven product in other applications but the way international used it was subpar.

The cooling system is in series oil cooler then EGR cooler if one clogs you’re done.

I know some of this was covered before.

My opinion is the only good thing about a 6.0 is that it came in a superduty

Great info.Too bad ford lost thousands of lifelong customers by selling them an early pos 6.0 and not stepping up to fix them.Ford sued navistar, and settled out of court.Ford got paid, and kept the money instead of using it to recall millions of junk trucks. If joeblow can fix all the issues for $4500,ford could have done it for less then $1000 a truck,I would guess.Instead they choose to overcharge people at the dealer, and install the same faulty parts,to fail again.
I have never been a ford fan, so it was fun when my ford loving freinds started having problems with their almost new 6.0 superdutys. When the problems cost thousands to (kindof) repair a almost new truck, the fun and ribbing is over. When house payments are late and it effects what your kids get for christmas, the fun is over. When you cant get to work because your new truck is always in shop, the fun is over.
Fuck ford for what they did to their loyal lifetime customers. It's no wonder every other car on the road used to be a taurous, now it's a kia.

This coming from a guy that wants to put 20 year old technology in a new truck. Big surprise you're not a fan of a modern diesel. I personally don't own any fuel injected vehicles, only heui and carburated, i have multiple of both and they all run good.

This is the #1 mistake people make buying 6.0's, allowing other people to fix their shit. If I can't fix it i won't buy it or drive it. Bitching because there are no qualified people to fix your shit means you didn't do your research before buying it.

ALL DIESELS are fuel injected.......

H.E.U.I.

Hydraulic Electronic Unit Injector

You can control where you break down at and towing is too much. You cant carry all the tools you need in your truck.......
