Default Adapting TH350/Dana 300 w/208 adapter????

Been doing a little research on using the adapter from a 700-R4/208 t/case, to adapt the Dana 300 case to the TH350. Making the adapter work is pretty cut and dry, but what I'm getting hung up on is the input shaft, or spud shaft that needs to be changed in the Dana 300. I know I'm thinking into this too much, but I still would like to know, just for the purpose of knowing.
Now, JB Conversions, and Advance Adapter both sell a replacement shaft for the 300 that converts it to a 27 spline input. The 208 adapter is the same length as the adapter that AA sells. http://www.advanceadapters.com/categ...0/0/18/0/52/0/ This kit comes with a spud shaft (coupler) that joins the output of the 350 to the input of the 300. I guess what I'm getting at is......Has anyone ever done this swap using the spud shaft (coupler)? And also after calling AA today to ask them about the shaft they told me that the coupler would not work, and gave me this part number for the correct shaft to do this swap. http://www.advanceadapters.com/produ...-spline-input/ Seems to be the same shaft as the coupler I'm reffering too. What gives???? I just want to make sure that I get the right part the first time. Any help from those that have done this swap would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Keith.
