Yup, taking a stand that the closures were illegal.

Hope we win.

i was reading about this on hardline.sounded like more of a lawsuit then a trial to reopen. would be cutting in a bunch of new trails with all the damage they did closing and bulldozing the trails in.hope it goes good.

I'm glad I got to wheel it a couple of times when I lived in NC before it was shut down. It was a great spot and it was sad to see it go. Hopefully something new and positive can come out of it.

Yes, as WR said. Southern, BRC, and UFWDA all agreed that USFS used flawed studies to determine river was beign contaminated. Contamination was reason for closure. Our suit contends if study flawed then closure was illegal. We had our own studies done but USFS refused to acknowledge them even though we used recommended source from USFS.
It's really a shame that probably 80% of the people on this board have either never been to Tellico or never hardly heard of it.
This place was a dream come true for most any middle to upper end of the capability scale for difficulty. It ranged from 2 on the main road up to 7 or 8 on Upper 2 and school bus, guardrail and the heliport.
Some of the trails were reclaimed but most if not all would be reservicable. But let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet.
If you can donate to the fund please do. Many folks and organizations have poured themselves into this project for years and it's time to see if it will all pay off. If you need info on where to send donations contact me and I will dig out the info.

Glad to hear there is still a fight going on to Save Tellico. I thought it was long gone and done for. Sucked b/c I always wanted to go there and see it talked to a lot of people that had gone once or twice and the said it was just tons of fun.

That ^ is the biggest problem I saw the whole time we were trying to get the USFS to do the right thing. Not enough updates and keeping everyone informed.

Thank WR for the donation. Hopefully others will follow suit.
