I was wondering if you ended up going frameless or not. Either way what swayed your decision. I have been looking at softopper for months and I am trying to sell my hardtop now. Thanks

i have not yet, but i still do plan on it. so far i still have not found another frameless soft top that does break apart to a bikini. the only things that i am worried about with the softtopper is that it seems kind of loose in the video, and the door surrounds for half doors are rounded not square like stock yj soft uppers.

I bought the YJ Softopper for my CJ7. I love it! Bought a couple of new TJ soft upper doors off eBay since they were A LOT cheaper ($160 shipped) than CJ rounded corner uppers. (I found a thread somewhere that shows how to shorten the back pin of the upper to make it fit a CJ)

Installation was fairly simple and it's quality made. The zippers feel strong and I'm not afraid to reef on the straps that secure the top.

The only disadvantage is the door frame, but it's only a cosmetic disadvantage and I've gotten used to it. It runs pretty close to the roll bar, within a few inches, so it's not that bad.

I mostly have all of the windows stored overhead and use it like a safari top but here's a shot of it with everything on.

Does this require a "family" style cage or can it work with the older design?
