Default 95 F250 Fummins conversion

Looking at picking up a 95 F250, standard cab long box. Have a 12 valve Cummins motor and manual trans. F250 has manual lockouts and the C6 trans. Cummins needs a turbo, no big deal. How much of a pain in the ass is the engine bay going to be, and will I need a new T-case to run the 4WD? Has Dana 44 front axle, and I believe a 60 in the rear. Also, could I run the Cummins off the C6 auto. trans in the truck already? Thanks for the help!

They do make an adapter for the c6 to 6bt. However, why would you honestly want a 3 speed? After all of that work I'd want at least an OD unit or a 6 speed manual.

At least go for a nv4500 5 speed with transfer case. It will be driverside drop 94+.

I'm just concerned with whether or not the transfer case will handle the torque.

I think he has the trans with it too, but i'm not sure if it'll fit into the budget. that is, unless i can sell or scrap the 5.8 in it now and pick up the trans. but then i need a new transfer case unless they make an adapter that i don't know about.

If its a 95 f250 it should be a d50 and a 10.25 not a d44 and a d60.

are you 100% sure it is a c6 and not a e4od?
any trans adapter you have to buy is gonna cost you, so be sure to do what you want.
If you want to keep the ford t case, get a matching transmission, so u don't need a t case adapter.
Automatic or manual is up to you on your preferred driving style. Automatic will cost more though, so just be ready for that. Ford e4od or 4r100 will bolt directly to your t case, but you will need a engine adapter as well as a trans controller to make em work.

Just did mine, and made my own adapter to save some coin. Still will buy the destroked one though in the future when I upgrade to a 4r100.

Go to FordCummins.com. This conversion site has better info for the older trucks and an adapter for all the transmission options and the E40D (should be an E40D) should handle it as well as the transfer case.
