Ended up going with the Open Countrys. Just over $1k out the door. I couldn't justify the positives of the BFG or Goodyears for 30% more....

I'll update this thread after I put some mileage on them.

I show up ten minutes early for my appointment @ belle tire.

25 minutes later they pull my truck in.

30 minutes later the guy comes into the showroom and says "come back here, we have a problem"

I walk in the garage to see my truck in the air, four rims sitting by the tire machine, and the salesman says " they shipped us 17" tires instead of 20" tires"

45 minutes later

they put the tires back on (without balancing them), and told me to come back tomorrow (which is now today)

I also told him I didn't want weights clamped to the rims, and he told me it would take at least 15 extra minutes per tire, so he said I would be cool driving unbalanced tires overnight, yay!

not really sure if I should go back there today.

Oh, and when I went to leave I had a huge seat condom in my truck, a giant steering wheel condom, and my touch screen dvd player was stuck in demo mode.

Last time I took my truck to Belle tire for an oil and fuel filter change it took them an hour and 40 minutes. First, they had to run to the damn store to get diesel oil.......then God only knows what happened. Next oil change was done by my mechanic.......20 minutes to un jam the wrong fuel filter Belle tire had jammed in it. They sent me a $50 gift card that I have yet to use...think ill go stock up on tire shine.

Fawk that place

Never had a good exlerience at a belle tire, 1/2 good experiences at discount. With my work trucks and jeeps I have been through it all, and have bfgs on a truck and jeep, and have hankook ats on my other truck, night and day from bfg in every way from plowing to dry pavement. Like the duratracs but dont need that agressive of a tread.

What did you get

I have had several sets of BFG AT's on differant trucks all with straight axle fronts, dodge and F350's. I have gotten 82,000 out of the best set and 65,000 plus out of all. I currently have a set on my F350 now.

I have a set of E range 285 16 duratracs on the Rubicon right now, their is 12,000 miles on them and they are half worn out. I know I beat the shit out of them and spin them on stuff, so it is not a fair comparison. The Duratracs have been good on every thing except mud, they will not clean out.

The TA's are by no means a mud tire, but they clean out better than the dura tracs.

I see you already went with the toyos, which i was going to recommend. I loved the duratracs on my 10 2500hd in the snow but they wore quickly. I put on toyos after i lifted it and they were great tires i thought. I have 37 bfg's on the 11 2500hd and not that impressed, i would rather have the toyos back.

I just put a set of duratracs on my f250, and couldnt be happier. 285/75/16s, ordered them from discount tire direct. They are offering 160 bucks back on them until the 4th I believe. They totaled out to right around 750 for four of them shipped to the house. As far as highway wear, I cant comment. I drove down to waterford last weekend, and had no complaints cruising 80 the whole way. They didnt take too much weight, I believe one took 1/2 oz on one side, and zero on the other. The most was 2.25, and 1.75. I've got a few friends who snow plow with them and swear by them.

They hook up great and move a lot of material but they are wearing like shit on my 2500HD. They worked great at the dunes last weekend though!

Default Duratracs vs BFG AT KO tires. vs Toyo open country

I bought my set a few days after my last post in this thread. The Toyo Open Country AT/2's have been awesome! They ride and seem soft but have been wearing like iron.

I loved my duratraks. I will be ordering a new set for my duramax here this week. I got About 45k on my last set on my 24v cummins. Still had about 1/4 inch left. The truck ran pretty good numbers and pulled and plowed alot with it. I really liked them. Plowed in 2wd mostly with the last set. Will relay back once the new set is installed
