Craigslist or ebay is a good place to buy a used spray gun.

Sata or devilbiss are some of the good ones. Get a HVLP gravity fed.

But you can get decent results from cheaper guns, both you will need to learn how to use properly.

Moved, since you aren't actually selling something here.

Look up Painter's Supply. Talk with the guys there. The Howell store is the one I recommend.

When spraying paint the results depend on knowledge more then the brand name on a gun. Most cheap guns are knock offs of devillbiss or binks guns. These cheaper guns are capable of a decent spray pattern ,but use cheaper neadles, seats and other parts,so they dont last in a production environment.
Id buy a cheap gun and start playing on a junk car hood or something long before you consider spending serious money on a good gun.I would also stick with solid colors for your first few jobs. You can sand a run out of solid colors, with metalics you have to respray the panel.
What ever you buy always, always clean it completly. This becomes more important when you $ on a exspensive gun.
