Default Warn winch motor-replace or repair??

I took the motor apart. Nothing looks like it is toast inside. Should I just buy a new one or have mine repaired? It looks like it is going to be $300 for a new motor. Repairs really cant cost that much can it?
Thanks in advance

What kind winch is it? Have you bench tested the motor? Google bench testing what ever type of motor it is. I have a warn 8274 and it is easy to test both solenoids and motor independently.

Yes, I did test the motor, as described on a web page. It is a hs9500i, and the solenoids were just clicking, so i hot wired the motor by jumping the A to the F1 terminal and connecting the positive to the F2 terminal, there was a little spark, but did not even start to turn.

Take the motor to a shop that rebuilds starters and have them look at it. Thats what I did when mine didn't work anymore and they found me replacement motor for $125 and that was a brand new one.

Thanks guys, I guess I will take it to a shop and have them at least give me an estimate on how much to repair it, and then go from there.
