Got some time in June to change the timing chain. Drove to my buddy's house in Greenwood, SC to use his garage. Quick install - total of 4 hours hours from pulling into the garage until the test drive. The old chain was stretched to the max and the guides were even broken. Doesn't sound like a diesel tractor anymore!!

With the timing chain out of the way, I headed up to Uwharrie National Forest in NC. Stayed in a campground there, nice place and the trails are less than a mile away. Most were pretty boring, so we ran Daniel forward and backward. Sweet trail and i'll be going back for sure. I got to use the skidplates a lot and ripped a 3" gash in a sidewall. Good times!!

Lot's of updates on this over the last year.
- Superior rear axleshafts - Stock shafts still haven't broken, just some insurance and now I have the stock ones as spares.
- 33" MT/R's w/Kevlar - LOVE these tires!
- Water pump exploded & replaced.
- Upgraded T-case shifter linkage.
- Now at 194,500+ miles.

Since the damn thing won't die, i'm going to keep it going. Found some cheap parts on Craiglist down here in SC and will do some work during the 4th of July break. The exhaust leak at the head drives me insane so i'm going to take a look at that also.
Pics to come!

Default Up for Sale!!

Well it is time to move the Red Jeep down the road.

For Sale
1997 TJ
207,000 miles
4 cylinder
5 speed
4:1 TCase
Dana 35 Rear 4.10 & Lock Rite
Dana 30 Front 4.10 & Lock Rite
High Clearance Skid Plates
Full Cage
Rear Upper Adjustable Control Arms
Carolina Drivetrain CV Shaft (rear)
New OEM CV Shaft (front)
New OEM Rubicon springs + 1" spacer in the rear
1" Body Lift
33" MT/R's with 50% left
33" Swamper Radial spare
12,000lb Winch

Good:
Jeep runs and drives. I drove it to Moab, wheeled all week and drove it home in 2013. September 2014 I drove it from South Carolina to Michigan. No problems - everything is mechanically sound. It wheels great with the 4:1 case and lockers. Jeep has new (within last 3 years/20K miles): Rod & main bearings, Timing Chain, Cylinder Head, Complete Exhaust, Steering box & pump, Tie Rod ends, Stainless brake lines, seat covers & top.

Bad:
Jeep is slow. Like 4 cylinder with 33's slow. The fenders are rusty and would need to be replaced to make it look 'nice'. Heater controls seem to be stuck (i never used them). Tires need to be balanced.

I do have some spare parts in SC that i will include, and will mail them to the buyer: Spare front & rear driveshafts, Rear Driver side axleshaft & 3 lower control arms.

Price - $4500 obo.

PM for details. Jeep is located in Owosso, MI.
