yj fuel tank issues

I have a 90 YJ that Im doing 60/14 bolt soa swaps. I would like to streatch the rear but I see the fuel tak interferance. without buying a fuel cell in the trunk area what ideas are out there. I Have a 2 in. body lift as well so I thought(not all the way through) about cutting the rear floor and raising the tank about 6 inches. has anyone done anything similar?

Please refer to number 2

And "TTT" your post, when no-one else has been posting in this forum is a pointless/ annoying endeavor.

On the topic of your thread, I have looked at doing this with mine, and there doesn't look to be too easy of a fix that will be safe, and as simple as just dropping the $ on a fuel cell and putting it in. You may be able to move the mounting points to the top of the frame rails, but the you will still have some heavy modification to the floor to do.

I made a fuel cell and had it throught the floor about 4 inches, but it was also notched in the front for axle clearance. So yes, it has been done a lot. I replaced that with a better made fuel cell that fits tighter and is completely underneath the jeep again.

I bought mine from KOZ. You can buy a similar one from Genright. You will get 15-18 gallons & stay below your floor.
