Default Electric Water Pump

This past weekend at the mud run I had a bad over heating issue. (First run with new truck) I was thinking on getting a electric water pump. I have a 460. Any suggestions on which pump I should buy. I do not want to spend a lot of cash for one. I've found a pro comp one for $119.99 It any good?

It all goes back to you get what you pay for. I had one in my sand dragster for about 2 seasons. The houseing cracked where the lower radiator hose hook up. I went to weld it up and it was full of porisity. Was a bad casting. I now have a moroso electric pump and have not had a problem. Moral, if you buy junk you are out that money plus the money to do it right. Just buy good parts from the start it will save you frustration in the long run

What makes you think that the water pump is the problem?

For the price of the electric water pump and the new belt and possible bracket/idler to make it all work your better off going with a high quality belt driven pump price wise.

I don't remember there being to many quality "cheap" parts on the last 460 I owned. It is a big block after all.

I was going to go with the electric water pump so it could circulate water through my motor with out the motor running and causing more heat. Plus it is lighter and no drag on the motor at high RPM's.

I have hot issues with my jeep at silver lake. Come to find out my water pump is made for either drag racing, or circle track racing with aluminium heads...

So seems to me its made to spin at 5500rpm plus for the entire time. So I'm going to swap it out for a stock no hiperformance pump.
