We are in complete agreement. I'm basing my previous statements on the assumption that Americans are going to play the same game they always do; bitch and complain when they don't see the changes they want but not do anything about it

I never said that I knew everything (but all teenagers know everything right!? ) But I am definitely not spoiled.

And the robot is pretty badass. It cannot walk or talk but thats not what the game for that year called for. We only have 6 weeks to design and build a complete robot and compete with over 3500 teams from around the world.

Lol no...FIRST robotics (usfirst.org) is the organization that puts on the competition. It was started by Dean Kamen (the guy who invented the segway) that video is what they produce to show what the game for that year is going to be and the tasks that the robots will have to do!

Your posts are really hard to read for someone who claims to be as smart as he is.

It sucks trying to deal with engineers that can't communicate effectively.

I try my hardest! When I am requesting anything from the guys in our plant I try to go down there and talk to them face to face or at least call them. I found that your stuff normally gets done faster and correctly. Plus its always better to have a face to face conversation with someone rather via email.

Sincere advise here. Get your shit together and stop using poor communication skills as an excuse. I have 2 degreed engineers who work for me and I work with several others on a regular basis. It sucks when they can't communicate.

I find that many engineers have poor writing skills. They usually write a thesis when a paragraph will do or make a mountain out of a mole hill. They have poor punctuation and writing skills. And quite often they talk the same way. Why is this a problem? They can't be trusted to write anything to a customer or visit a customer without someone being there to pick up the loose pieces. These are the engineers that never get promoted and can't figure out why. If you want to go as far as your skills and smarts will get you, make the effort to make sure that EVERYTHING YOU TYPE is clear, reads easily and doesn't have spelling/punctuation errors. Don't use abbreviations or slang. Get used to doing it right, not sloppy.

I wish you the best as we need good engineers in our culture.

Yeah you think so huh?

If that's what you think, maybe you should spend some time making sure you have learned to communicate effectively.
