10 bolt gear questions

i have 10 bolt axles in my truck front and rear... pics here
help IDing 10 bolt axles and t-case - Great Lakes 4x4. The largest offroad forum in the Midwest

wanting to change the gears to 4.56 or 4.88

here is my truck info

80's style frame and drivetrain, motor is stock 350.....for now

current gears are something like 2.73 or 3.07....

I am running a 35x14.50x15 super swamper sx...

currently i only use 4 lo.... cause theres no power otherwise...

truck is being built as a dedicated wheeler... and will trailer it where ever it goes...

So my questions are.....

is 4.56 enough gear? should i go 4.88 or even bigger?

do i need to be worried about the gears fitting my carrier with the highway gears it has?

will the same gear work for both front and rear 10 bolts?

any good ideas where to buy? online preferred... dont want to drive 2 hours

should i get master install kits?

I would suggest you go 4.88.
You will need carriers, so now is the time for lockers.
Master install kits are the way to go.

Use the high quality parts for best results.

4.56 is "enough" but 4.88 gives you better low speed control and better crawl ratio.

No

Yes

You'll probably want them rather than trying to use your old bearings
You won't need new carriers....
