Wow! Thats interesting. I dont think I would have welded on a rim that had a tire on it, but now I know I wont.

i never would have guessed that was even possible. i was expecting a slight pressure increase from the heat but nothing along the lines of what happened.

The part I find scary is I have done this., never would have thought that a tire could get so hot as to explode via the heat build up.
I burned some lug nuts of a vette one time with the tire on the wheel. we had the rim so hot you fry an egg on it. some duffus welded the locks to the stud thinking he was adding a nut to the face. I used a cutting torch in the lug pocket for probablly 20 minutes on two wheels. the rims didn't show any damage from the torch and it was all good. very lucky we didn't have an explosion after seeing this video.

Gotta be. At least Ive never seen or heard of anything like it... How many people have ether seated a bead or torched lug nut off and nobodies ever even heard of this happening? How about hauling heavy where the tire gets too hot to touch, or tire failures from underinflation/overheating and no random tire detonations along the hiway?

Also think of towing in the mountains or even just being hard on the brakes. Like when you get the brake discs nice and toasty and all that heat transfers to the rim...

I would have thought this subject to go in the "no duh" bin.

Its produced by Bridgestone tire.
if its a Hoax why would a multinational corporation be putting it out?
I would think they would have more to lose if they were out to undermine the industry?
