Default 1990 suzuki sidekick wont engage 4wd

just bought a 1990 sidekick. 4wd will not engage. can shift into with lever, lights up but does not engage. also 4wd lo will not engage at all. wont even shift into it. new to the zook stuff so anything that will lead me in some direction be great.

If you have auto locking hubs one might be broke. Also, if a front halfshaft broke it will do the same thing.
