Default Looking for helpful thoughts!!!

I bought an 83 CJ7 last year. Have been doing some mods here and there. I am to the point that I am now thinking of putting a 350 in it. It currently has a 75 4.2 straight six. It runs good but I have always had V8 motors in my toys and I am missing that power, Smell, Sounds well you all know what I mean. So what do I need to be looking for as far as trans? Any known problems? I have always owned mustangs but I wanted a change so I bought a jeep. So I am very unfamiliar about this, I am learning but it takes time. So can anyone give me some input on what I am going to be encountering?
Thanks in advance for the input!!!
