Apex Tactical has all ready said they will be offering drop in parts for the Shield ASAP.
If the Shield is as nice as I believe my M&P .40 is, I'm all over the .40 cal Shield when it's available.
Not crazy about the safety, but I don't think it's gonna be a deal breaker if it's a comfortable fit.

The Shield's safety is much different than the normal M&P series safety which is quite bulky and also sticks out on both sides. The Shield uses a single sided safety, which looks almost identical to the slide release. The only unfortunate part about the gun, is that they changed the ambidextrous controls to right hand only to save on width overall. Still an awesome weapon!

I was litterally standing there when UPS arrived at the local gun shop today with the Shield.
Got to fondle the 9mm version today, and I must say that I was impressed.
Very nice size. The grip is thin, but still fit my hand well.
I'll be getting the .40 cal version when it becomes available.
