tow rig tires and suspension
ok guys so basically im getting tired of paying 1100-1500 for a set of tires every year and half for my dd/ tow rig. my truck stays on the road but goes down dirt roads or a few 2 tracks to get to the riden spot with the bikes.
since the price of tires have sky rocketed over the past year im debating switching to the h1 37s since they last for ever and are 100 a tire. currently im running a leveling kit and 35 good years with a slight rub at full lock. what im thinking about going with is a 4 inch progressive rate coil from topgun customz. i have heard nothing but good things about their long arm kit but im not going to spend a grand for some steel tubes and joints. that just seems like crazy talk to me. my thoughts are that i will just build a long arm set up of my own and run a radius arm front suspension. i dont see any harm in doing this since it wont be flexed out on a regular basis. does any one have any thoughts to offer that i may be over looking on this? this will be a ways out but i dont see any reason it wouldnt work for a truck that gets beat down the high way and around town. basically i would be love to have this kit but they dont make such kit anymore. and for 2400 i dont think i would have any interest in doing such a kit. this is their link it and looks like it would be pretty easy to make something along the lines of theirs. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/to...-must-see.html

I run whatever comes on my truck and get around 50K with them. Your real problem is that you want to run a 35" tire on a DD and you are expecting to get the same life as a good OEM tire.

the 37s are good for a tow rig because of their load range but are horibble on ice because of the hard compound i have owned them and they work great in deep stuff but on the slick stuff not so much so watch out in the winter plus spending that much on a lift i would just lower to a 33 and save some money

I run 40" SS M16 radial... 450$ a tire... Life sucks at tire changing time.
