Sawhorse

So, I decided this morning, I would build myself a set of sawhorses with some lumber that I had sitting in the shed. I started out with these plans. Once I pulled the boards out, I quickly figured out I didn't have the right length, and amount of 2x4s to do this project.

Undetered, I said I'll make my own.

After some trial and error, this is what I ended up with. The closest I've come to building stuff was an address sign in 7 grade wood shop class. I'm pretty proud of myself. These were done with a 10 year old tool shop saw, 30 year old drill, seven 7' 2x4s (.99cents a piece from Lowes, a coaster as a straightedge and a lot of "eh, looks close enough".

That'll work. You might want to think about putting a flat board across the top though so that you can clamp down lumber.

as much as I like to get a sense of accomplishment during some down time to make something, I very much prefer these:

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=202021304&storeId=10051&l angId=-1&catalogId=10053&ci_sku=202021304&ci_kw={keyword} &kwd={keyword}&cm_mmc=shopping-_-googleads-_-pla-_-202021304&ci_gpa=pla

link+fail - google: husky x-horse

very light, very quick set up, and they fold flat for storage. I think I paid $35 for a pair back in the day (they're about that each now)

I have a set similar to these from Harbor Freight. They fold up nice and tiny for storage.
