Diesel build

Well this isn't much of a build thread seeing the truck is mostly done, but here are some pics. I bought this truck less than a month ago that was wrecked, it came with doors, and a bed already to replace the damaged parts. However the bed was rusty as hell and I didn't want to put a rusty bed on a truck from AZ. So I cut the quarter panel off and used the extra bed for the inner bed piece, then got a new quarter panel for the outer.

Now after lots of sanding and fabrication, the bed is together and on the truck. Also all the doors have been painted and are on the truck. I decided to change the color of the truck to tuxedo black in order to make the truck how I wanted.

The painting took a lot of prepping and priming to get rid of little dents, but it is finally all together and painted. Only a few touch ups needed.

Here are some build pics:

Looks good. Is that the new ford metallic black? I did a leveling kit on mine then had to do an add a leaf in the rear to match the front.

Yeah that's the new Tuxedo Black that comes on Taurus' and explorer models etc. The rear end is up pretty high already, and the leveling kit isn't a spring kit, it is the stock springs with a longer shackle to let the front sit higher above the axle.

Got the U-joints today, and the leveling kit also goes on today along with the FX4 springs and shocks. Also I have to wet sand and wheel it in order to complete the new paint job. It's killing me to not be able to drive the truck so it should be ready for the road tonight.

Are those swirl marks on the last pic?

That was a labor of love, you must have made money at the purchase price, nice work.

The swirl marks are from cleaning it without wet sanding and wheeling it yet. It was painted in my garage at home so the paint needs to be wet sanded, waxed and cleaned. Pics are to come when it is nice and shiny
