Default fuel pump question

can you use a ford external fuel pump 60 to 80 psi on a Chevy 350 tbi that only requires 14 to 16 psi? will the regulator for the tbi send the fuel back to the tank and only use what needed?

I run a stock jeep pump on my sons 4.3tbi at 50 Psi and have had zero problems. Steel feed and return lines.

X2 on my tbi 350. When I do a stretch tank I plan on a ford pump.
