I would be concerned about smaller bearings, balljoints and brakes on a D44.

Not going the Dana 44 route anymore. I am picking up a Dana 50 with all the goodies for the install next week.

A friend of mine hooked me up with a 93 F350 single wheel one ton with a Dana 60 straight axle up front. Now have everything for the conversion and a shit ton of spare parts.
