Default Heim/ Uniball in The Winter.

How well do heim joints and uniball joints (not the Lace Armstrong Uniball) last in the winter. I am curious as to the rust and corrosion issues with all the salt they pour on the roads and the muddy dirt roads in the spring. So with regular maintenance like tear down and grease will these be worth the extra cost or should I just stick with the rubber bushing used from the factory. Thanks in advance.

I'm using 7/8-14 FK heims on my steering, FK makes a rubber boot that totally incases the heim. So far so good. This is on a dd jk so it gets used everyday and no problems. I bought the setup from Summit Machine. The boots do work with Safety washers and Heim spacers. Summit Machine does not have a listing for this boot on their website.

Your thinking about the Seals-it seals?? http://www.sealsit.com/rodend.asp I used them on some circle track stuff and they worked very well. As for Rod ends on the street... Everything is going to need some maintenance
