A ton of more sanding and priming and sanding and sanding have been going on at my shop over the last month.

We smoothed the lines in the rear roof section and smoothed the lines on the uprights behind the doors.

All of the chrome or polished parts have had a black chrome treatment. Here's a little teaser. I held the Bronco badge up to the same piece on my F150 for comparison.

We finally got the paddles mounted up on the wheels and I bolted 1 on just to see how badass this thing is going to look in the dunes this year.

Some primer shots of the top and doors from the last week

and finally the payoff. a few pics of some fresh paint that is drying as I type this.

Oh! I alomost forgot. The brown truck stopped by the house while I was working on it this morning.

Them's some FAT wires!!!!

Thought they delivered the Pepsi.

Looks good, it'll be even better once it's back together.

I wish I had your ambition, my pile would be driving by now if I did.

It's going to be close date-wise, but I'm scheduled to unveil it at the Schuss Mountail hill climb. I will definately have it up in the dunes a LOT this year though. I'll be happy to run you around for a few laps!

Thanks guys! With any luck we'll be priming the rest of it next weekend. Another couple weekends of blocking and touch-ups and we can finally shoot the rest of it.

Unfortunately it's going bye bye.... I like it, but with the top off, it just looks stupid. Most of the time I drive it, the weather will be nice and it will be sitting on the trailer.

I'm usually not much of a Bronco fan but you definitely have a bad ass truck!

Not really... I have another pic or two of the topper done with all the paper pulled off. I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.
Today we finally got some fresh seam sealer in the door jambs and got the hood and fenders adjusted.

We just have 2-3 weeks of the crappy nit-picky crap to get knocked out of the way before paint. I started my new job this week and have had NO ambition to do anything- even though I really want to button this up and enjoy it. Hopefully we can get the 1st coat of primer sprayed next weekend.

I doubt that it will be done before the end of April at this point. We keep finding more little items that need attention before we prime and paint. Oh well- I don't want to have to do this again in a year or two....

Here's a shot of the topper after paint and I had a chance to pull the paper and tape. It really looks nice outside in the sun. I would have taken another pic of it but it was covered in snow.... Note the reflection of the background on the top of it...

hmmmm... Depending on my ambition level--- right around the end of the month.

We'll see. it all depends on how long it takes to block everything out.
