Default Hi Capacity Print+fold+Envelope Stuff Solutions?

Anyone still have one of these fancyschmancy high speed batch printers in house? Recommended brand/make? We have several "all in one" doc centers that scan/print/fax but all are at max about 30 ppm, and none have more than a 6 ream paper paper input/output bin, and none will fold/insert. (current machines are a mix of panasonic, hp and canon)

One of our vendors has now screwed up in one way or another, 5 different mass print+mail jobs in the past 8 months (like 25,000 piece runs).

Perhaps it's time to at least entertain in-sourcing a solution?

They messed up 5 times and you are just now considering dropping them. I hope you at least got a refund for the mess up.

Are you a non profit? If so usually you can get volunteers easy enough. I have stuffed tons of envelops for march of dimes on a volunteer charity basis when I did not want to get swamped by all the bs volunteers during the holiday season.

There are tons of people on crowdrise or even on here that would make time to help a non profit.

If your not a non profit find another printer. There are quite a few out there. You get what you pay for kind of thing.

Convicts seem like a better alternative to Mexicans. I'm all for making good use of tax dollars.

or you can go to the big dogs that run it

Since 1999 the public has been allowed to use these services.

They have only screwed up one of our department's jobs - and we've only just recently learned of the screw ups with the other departments.

We did in fact get a sizeable refund - and I get to babysit a job this afternoon. I guess I'll be paying attention to the equipment they actually use and seeing if I can find competitive products/vendors.

We also statutory requirements that have to be met with these mailings, along with proper mailing certifications. We end up in court all the time, and have to prove that we served proper notice of various filings in our department (other departments are sending out newsletters, or bills)

And none of this is my call, responsibility or even in the capacity of a formal recommendation - my boss just thinks I can find pretty much anything on the web

kodak digimaster systems seem like they're pretty neat.

as well as the knonica/minolta bizhub press series.

at this price point, it seems like they're all custom quotes though
