Default King of the Motos

Ran in conjunction with the King of Hammers events. Looked pretty tough. 65 mile loop, 10 miles in the rocks, 6+ hrs, no pit support.

I heard he was invited, but opted out. No competition.

In all seriousness - from doing Steel Bender in a XJ and a few years later on motorcycles - you have a lot more options open to you on two wheels.

A lot more chances to get hurt too.

there was a bunch of crazy bikes running it.saw a new beta. they had a trials ride on the back of the mountain also. there was some bikes in the pits that i have never seen before.
just so you fags know...the 3rd place guy was 39. so i am not too old yet.

the kid that took 2nd was a no name, brought his bike in the back of his pickup.no big sponsor. 1st and 3rd were full factory riders.

I wonder why they didn't run one of the pds bikes? Seems like a pretty elaborate guard when they had a simpler option.

Funny you mention that - because I thought the same thing. The Austrians are so logical that my only guess is that the "new" linked rear end is enough of an improvement over the old PDS design that it was worth the extra work in protecting it.
