Should we short the stock.

I have no apple products, I've read his biography and really feel that he was the company. I really think that it will be downhill a bit from here. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-57...?tag=cnetRiver

Can the company survive without him.

Not really, but I could do a few dozen shares. I just really feel that with the rise of Android phones and tablets, their recent court decisions, google recent patent purchase spree, (Motorola and then some) that they might be hitting the peak. Plus Steve had a huge impact on the whole development team.

I really don't have a clue.

As an android user I think the 4.0 ice cream sandwich is the cats meow and it just as smooth as the Iphone. . . this is the first time I would say that. The Gingy was close but this new system on my Nexus is freaking awesome!

I know the process to do it, just want some reassurance that it's a good idea. Right now it's play I would use in a stock market game. I just really think that the company was built around him and without his help they may founder a bit.

Pixar though kinda shots that theory, he set that place up to win after his departure.

Apple fires Steve Jobs.

Apple almost fails.

Steve jobs returns.

Apple flourishes.

Steve Jobs dies.

Doesn't look good, does it?

I think the kool-aid will lose it's effect sortly. I was suprised it didn't when people discovered the the 4gS wasn't a 4G phone but they are still buying them like crazy when my 4G android (and about 20 different other offerings) download things at the speed of light, okay maybe a little slower but wow when compared to 3g.

Apple fanboi are crazy loyal though. I know a guy that sold a 6 year old desk top the other day for something like $200 less then he paid for it! CRAZY!!!

He was the company. Just like Henry Ford and Thomas Edison. And we know how those companies failed after the founder's death...

Difference is, a good part of Apple's success is due to Jobs' charisma.

From what I've read, both Henry and Thomas had anti-charisma.

"Apple, whose price hit $500 for the first time on Monday, could be the first company ever to reach a trillion dollar valuation".

Sometime the company does better after the owner dies just look at Ruger. After Bill died they offered AR15'a and 1911's . Old Bill is rolling in his grave but the company is doing great.
