Default US made carry weapon

My brother in law has a couple of glocks, I really liked them. I would like to get a carry weapon, I do not want to carry my .357 as it is heavey.

Whats the best light weight semi auto US made, not a 1911 model out there.

Asking what the best carry gun is is like asking what vehicle is the best offroad. You'll get 10 different answers from 10 different people. Research online, go to a range that rents guns, research more, shoot your friends' guns, research some more, then make your own decision. What works for one person won't work for a dozen others. I carry a compact 1911, some friends carry pocket guns, others carry full frame double stacked guns. Do your own research and pick what works best for you, that's the only way to get the right setup.

Kel-tec is made in the u.s. I carry the p-11 ( 9 mm semi-auto 10 round clip ) some people don't like Kel-tec bc of the 9 pound trigger pull on it. But if you shoot it a few hundred time you don't even notice it.

Springfield xdm is made over seas......Croatia to be exact

I own a xdm and have over 500 rounds down the tube and not ONE malfunction.

My best friend went from a hi-point to a kel-tec......it was better than the usa made hi point but he went to the xdm after it jammed so many times.

I trust my life and my family to the xdm. 40 I own

I carry a Kel Tec PF9 with their belt clip. Very thin and small unit. Only holds 7 rounds, but you can get an 8 round clip.
I also keep a S/A XD .40 in the vehicle, but it's too thick for me to carry comfortably.

It is a rite good idea to try several BEFORE you buy one. You already have one, so you know what feels good to you.

After taking my Executive Protection class, where I was able to try several different handguns, I came home knowing what feel I wanted.

For myself, I chose the Ruger SR9c. It is the compact version of the SR9. It came with one smaller 10rd mag for concealed carry, and one 17rd mag for when I use it on my duty belt at work. Another feature it has that I LOVED, is that it comes with adjustable front and rear site posts, which meant I didn't need to buy any aftermarket sights to fine tune my zero. After a few shots, and some adjustments, I am perfectly confident in my shot and it is no problem to punch a keyhole on a dime.

It isn't heavy and I have had no problems carrying it for the entire day in a concealed carry position.

Good luck to you on your next purchase! I hope that you enjoy your new weapon as much as I do mine!

None of these are made in the US.

Op, your best bet will be something from S&W, Ruger, kel-tec, certain Sigs, certain Berettas, Colt, etc.

I'd personally go with a S&W M&P 9c.
