Default The Farm

My grandpa passed away on the 3rd from a short battle with cancer, i though he would like it if i shared what he has been looking at on his farm for the last 57 years i hope you enjoy them as much as i do.

Nice property, do you intend on farming it? How much land?

Get started young man, let me know if you need help or need to figure any thing out.

I started at the age of 34 with nothing, in 2004. Every one believes you can not become a farmer.

Get busy you can do it.

Thats great you have a plan for the property. With the cost of everything going up, it would be a good idea to farm it. Poultry, cows/dairy/beef, produce, your possibilities are endless.

Nice pictures.......if you end up with the property or not~hang on to the memories of your Grandfater. But if you CAN own and farm it.......I'm just betting that a lot of the country will turn back to their roots in the near future, may as well get a jump start on it. Big garden! Anyone remember that song that said "I eat what I grow now in self defense"? LOL~well at least PARTLY joking.

My grandpa owes farm land in richville, Mi and its been in the family for over 100 years and whats sad that once he is no longer here the land will be spilt up and sold because thats how my aunts/uncles/ rest of family work. All about money and nothing about history or passion to keep somthing around thats been in the family this long. Its sad.

Thats a damn shame your grandpa should kick them kids in the nuts and take their names off it.... sounds like the grandchildren may be a better choice to leave the farm to.

Its still in his name currently thankfully, but he tried to set up a entidey (sp?) so that all his kids could run it but everyone eather just wanted their chunk seperate or just for my grandpa to sell it for the money. Its sad Seriously we lease it out and it runs itself for the most part, same famer has been on our land for years and is a family friend since we sold the farm house back in the 80's. Its sad cause even my cousins dont give a shit eather except for money thats in it when its sold.

Trust me if I had the money I would keep it just to keep it in the family. Its just not possable. So if you can jump on it.

Property values are down, so best interest would be to hold out until values increase. Until then farm it of lease it.
